About The Event
Let’s Light Up UP! On Sunday, Dec. 4, from 2 to 4 pm, many families in UP are gathering at the cut-through between Clagett and Woodbury to make giant lighted holiday balls that we’ll hang from trees in our yards throughout December. (The cut-through is between 4315 and 4317 Clagett Road.) You may have seen some of these lights last year, when several families helped start a new UP tradition. The more lights we have, the more magical our neighborhood will look! If you’d like to get in on this, it’s not too late! The balls are made from chicken wire and 300 mini-LED lights and take about 15 to 30 minutes to make, depending on your dexterity! The University Park Civic Association is supporting us this year and donating the chicken wire and refreshments. You can bring your own lights, or we will sell them to you at cost. (around $20-30 depending on the sales.) We may have solar lights as well. We want to ensure we have enough chicken wire for everyone, so if you’d like to join us either fill out this form- https://bit.ly/UPHolidayBalls or contact Norma Babington at Babington.firstname.lastname@example.org or 410-627-9856, or Ellen Whitaker at email@example.com or 202-288-9008. Please note: we will be watching the weather. If the forecast looks bad for Sunday, we will move it to Saturday, Dec. 4. We will send email alert if we change the date.
